Acne, also called acne vulgaris, is a common skin problem that occurs when oil and dead skin cells clog up the hair follicle.  These blemishes appear where the skin has a greater number of oil glands such as the face, neck, chest, and back. Acne is very common among teens. It usually improves after the teen years when hormones stabilize. Many treatment options are available to improve the appearance of the skin, reduce anxiety and improve the self-esteem of acne sufferers.
