Hair Loss | Alopecia
Hair loss, also known as alopecia or more commonly, baldness, can occur on part of or the entire head. Alopecia areata begins with small clumps of hair fall out and in rare cases, complete hair loss on the head and entire body. The cause of male-pattern baldness is a combination of genetics and male hormones and the autoimmune system is responsible for alopecia areata. Conversely, the cause of female pattern hair loss is uncertain.
